Established in the year 1961, IITD is a public university located in Hauz Khaz, South Delhi. It is a premier institution for higher studies in engineering and technology. This institution is listed in top 200 universities of the world according to Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) list 2015. Some of the notable alumni of this prestigious institution are Vinod Khosla, Raghuram Rajan, Rajendra Singh Pawar.

Academics and Admissions:

IITD primarily offers a Bachelor of Technology in mainly nine areas: Biochemical Engineering and biotechnology, Chemical Engineering , Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Mathematics and Computing, Mechanical Engineering, Production and Industrial Engineering, Textile Technology.

The admission to these programs is through the JEE Examination which is conducted at all India level. The institution also offers some postgraduate programs M.Tech, M.S, M.S.c, M.Des and MBA under various departments. The admission to this is through the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) and admissions to MBA are through Common Admission Test (CAT).banner_sale_physics

Placements:

Several technology companies and MNC’s conduct a campus drives in IITD and every year roll out high packages of over $1,00,000 per annum as base o international and national positions. Most offers are for domestic profiles. In 2016, 222 students were registered for placements and total85 companies visited the campus of IITD. The total offers were319 and among them 220 were Indian offers and 02 overseas. The overall average salary offered was around 11.41 lacs. Every year a great chunk of students get placed in world’s top Multi National Companies.

Life at IIT Delhi

IITD has a campus which spreads in 320 acres and lies in the centre of Delhi. The studies are a no cakewalk and there are multitude exams where students opt for two minors and one major. The exams, quizzes, projects, assignments go on throughout the year. The faculty is really helpful and very experienced in their respected fields. Talking about the hostels, they are well equipped and the food too is decent. Other than the hostel mess there are a variety of food options available around the campus. There is an in-campus hospital too which is open 24*7. The institution has technical clubs like Robotics Club, Astronomy Club, Electronics club, Economics Club, Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Coding Club etc for the students.

Basically it solely depends on the student on how he/she wants to learn and make his/her experience worthwhile. IIT Delhi  is supposed to have an amazing culture from all the institutions and colleges of the country.
